19 km
Last night we had our first pilgrims blessing at San Andres church. John and me, along with about 15 other peregrinos who attended mass, were asked to come to the alter. The priest first blessed us in Spanish, then his assistant blessed us in English.
God, You called your servant Abraham from Ur in Chaldea, watching over him in all his wandering, and guided the Hebrew people as they crossed the desert. Guard these your children who, for the love of your Name, make a pilgrimage to Compostela. Be their companion on the way, their guide at the crossroads, their strength in weariness, their defense in dangers, their shelter in the path, their shade in the heat, their light in darkness, their comfort in discouragement, and the firmness of their intentions; that through your guidance, they may arrive safely at the end of their journey and, enriched with grace and virtue, may return to their homes filled with salutary and lasting joy.
Pilgrims Prayer
Today was the farthest we have walked, 19 km. Our backpacks slow us down. We passed shepards with their flocks, more vineyards, ancient ruins and row upon row of olive trees. These olives are for pressing into oil. I like to think that someday, when I buy Spanish olive oil, it may have a olive or two that I've walked past.

We are in Casa Mari albergue, nursing ourselves and enjoying some semi quiet time. In the communal kitchen and on the patio, we hear pilgrims chatting and laughing...and sharing the adventures of their day.
For reasons unknown to me, my thoughts went to John's son Shawn today. His family, also. I pray they are well. Love them, miss them and would love to have a grandson hug about now.
Mind wanderings today...is anyone reading this blather? Matters not, because I'll continue writing. My memories are fresh now, so I can read back on this in a few months and remember.

I'm following your journey- Keep up the blogging :-) Leanne x
